How It Works
2026 Registration Opens: Tuesday, May 26, 2026

Summer Reading Kick-off: Thursday, June 4, 2026, from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm.
Drop-in activities to launch our “Unearth a Story” theme. MORE HERE.
Deadline for Reporting: Friday, July 24, 2026, at 5:00 pm.

Awards Celebration: Saturday, July 25, 2026 at 2:00 p.m.
Cake & Summer Reading Award Winners Announced
Complete the activity log and turn it in at The Children’s Library. You will then be entered into the drawing for the grand prize. You can pick up a log in person or Download the Activity Sheet here.
All participants who register, participate, and submit the preschool log will receive a $10 gift card to Chapter One Bookstore in Ketchum or Iconoclast Books & Gifts in Hailey. Gift cards must be picked up in person at The Community Library.

Pre-K Summer Reading Rules
You Must Register AND Log Your Activities by 5:00 pm on Friday, July 24, 2026
Pre-K participants must be registered for the summer reading program AND log their activities in order to win a prize. Forms for registering and logging pages are above.
Claim Your Prize
Prize winners will be determined by a blind drawing. You need not be present to win. Prizes must be picked up in person by August 31, 2026. We do not deliver. In the rare instance that an advertised prize is not available, an alternative prize will be substituted at the sole discretion of The Community Library.

Summer Reading Gift Cards can be redeemed at either Iconoclast Books and Gifts in Hailey or Chapter One Bookstore in Ketchum.
