The Spanish Collection
Leer en espanol. The Spanish Language Collection has nearly a thousand adult fiction and nonfiction books and includes authors from all over the world.
The Language Learning Collection
The Language Learning Collection has books, DVDs, and CDs for learning Spanish and more than a dozen other languages, including French, German, Italian, Thai, Japanese, Russian, Chinese, Portuguese, Basque, Latin, Swedish, Greek, and English.
The Travel Collection
Our Travel section has guides for all continents, poles, and some nearby parts of the solar system. Plan a trip or vicariously visit anywhere you desire via travelogues, maps, and guides. For immersive travelers, the Travel Collection is located right next to the Language collection.
The Music Station
Check out a guitar and sheet music for fun and practice, or borrow a chess set, jigsaw puzzle, even a Star Trek themed game of Catan! When you browse our Music Station, you might even end up borrowing a ukulele for a party.
Graphic Novels
Next to the Music Station, we offer a diverse and eclectic comic book collection that includes graphic fiction, nonfiction, and biographies for mature readers and the young at heart.
Magazines, Newspapers, and Journals
Local, regional, and national magazines, newspapers, and journals live in the Learning Commons. The scope of this ever-renewing collection includes current events, business and economics, education, science, fashion, and sports and recreation. Newspapers are for use within the library building only. Magazines may be checked out for one week.
The Mountain of Books
The Lecture Hall’s Mountain of Books holds our oversized, odd, and vintage books, some dating from the founding of The Community Library in 1957. Ask a librarian for access to the Peak!
The Lister Collection
The Lister Collection of astrology, comparative religion, and the paranormal celebrated hope, wonder, and diversity during a time of conflict and challenge in the 1960s and 70s. World renowned astrologer and local author Johnny Lister’s unique, diverse, and arcane titles will help you channel your inner Age of Aquarius.

From Alice Adams to Emile Zola, find a rich concentration of classic literature, essays, critical thought, and history in our Core Collection. Our classic reads are located in our Program Studio below the Children’s Library.
The Special Collection
Our gathering of rare and unusual publications—from Mark Twain to Sappho—includes many works of fine literature. It also includes limited edition works from Arion Press bound in fine bindings and infused with art and poetry.
