Collections Manager Aly Wepplo recommends Margo’s Got Money Troubles by Rufi Thorpe.

Twenty-year-old Margo Millet has no job, no money, and a new baby. The baby’s father wants nothing to do with the child. Her roommates move out, unable to live with a crying infant, and her parents have never been much help. Margo’s life is a disaster. But she’s a great mom, and baby Bodhi is the love of her life.
The thing about being a disaster is that it’s very expensive. And waiting tables won’t pay for childcare. Margo needs a plan. When her estranged father, Jinx, offers to move in and help, she agrees. He’s great with babies. He also happens to be a manager in the pro wrestling circuit with years of experience crafting compelling storylines and attracting fans. Margo has an idea: she starts a page on OnlyFans, an online subscription service known for adult content. A gifted writer, her quirky character HungryGhost becomes a runaway hit. Suddenly, the people who abandoned Margo reappear, saying her line of work makes her an unfit parent.
This bold, unconventional novel by Rufi Thorpe was my favorite read of 2025. It features terrific characters and worldbuilding. Recommended for fans of Kevin Wilson. The audiobook is narrated by Elle Fanning, who also stars in the upcoming TV series.
