Color our World
Looking for a fun way to read more and win prizes during the summer? Join The Community Library for its Adult Summer Reading Program!
The Community Library, Hailey Public Library, and Bellevue Public Library are collaborating to host the 2024 Valley-wide Adult Summer Reading program. The theme, COLOR OUR WORLD, aims to expand and inspire your experience of the extraordinary and diverse world in which we live.
The program runs from May 24 – September 2, 2025.
“Color Our World” invites you to complete literary and related local activities that explore the theme of color, ranging from colorful people to the arts and to colors in the natural world. This is meant to be fun and educational but more so to encourage your motivation to read. To that end, the form asks you to set a reading goal for the summer in minutes or number of books. This is entirely optional and up to you to decide and track.
Adult Summer Reads 2025 kicks off on Memorial Day weekend (Saturday, May 24) and registration remains open throughout the summer. The program wraps up after Labor Day weekend (Tuesday, September 2) with an end-of-summer prize drawing at each of the participating libraries.
To get started, complete the registration form here and then stop by your library to pick up your Passport—available in English and Spanish. You will find it filled with engaging prompts to direct your reading choices. Each page you complete earns you a ticket in our end-of-summer drawing.
After registering, you will receive a passport, which is available in either English or Spanish. For each book read or activity completed, you will get a page in your passport stamped at their “home” library. You will receive one ticket per page to enter drawings for great prizes—including gift certificates to the Gold Mine Thrift store. In addition, two participants will be selected from each library to enjoy a casual dinner at the historic Ernest and Mary Hemingway House.
Drawing entries can be submitted at your local library through Tuesday, Sept. 2 at 2 pm. The prize drawings will be held at each library that day. Winners will be contacted, and you do not need to be present to win. Various prizes at each library are awarded to those whose tickets are drawn.
We look forward to hearing about your summer reads and activities. Drop by often to get your passport stamped and share with us something colorful that you have learned or found inspiring. Keep in mind that library staff are always willing to guide your selections as well. Just ask!
Drawing: Prize winners will be drawn randomly on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. and winners will be notified by telephone.
This project is a collaboration of the Wood River Valley libraries, and any interested adult is welcome to join. Hailey Public Library | Bellevue Public Library | The Community Library are the participating libraries, and you will be asked to select one library where you will participate.
Participants must be 18+ to participate in the Adult Summer Reads program. Preschoolers, Children, and Tween & Teens should register in their respective programs.
