Gathering History - Ketchum Buildings

General info
What do you have stored in a shoebox that is part of Ketchum history? Photos? Matchbooks? A brochure? What memories do you have that you might share so that those memories aren’t lost!? The Wood River Museum wants to know! We plan to host more Gathering History events in the future with other themes: restaurants in Ketchum and Sun Valley, photo albums and who is in the photos, event history and photos (bike races, ski races, etc), the list goes on!
We know that folks have so much knowledge about buildings and their history, and likely have photos and maybe memorabilia that they’d be willing to share in a “Show & Tell” evening at the Wood River Museum. We’re not looking for you to donate items, but if you’ve got great photos that could be scanned to be part of our historical record, we’d scan them and return them to you. In particular, we’re looking for stories and photos of some old Ketchum locales like the MacDonald Cabins aka Ketchum Korral, Jack Frost Motel (across from the Wood River Museum), Formula Sports A-Frame, Colonnade Building, Louie’s aka Congregational Church, and The Pioneer or others. If you’ve got photos of old buildings in Ketchum, we want to see them. We’ll have tables set up for folks to share their items and tell about them. We’ll have seltzer water and beer, if you’d like to bring a beverage to drink or share, feel free! If you’ve got questions about this event, email kbretall@comlib.org
