Come kick-off your Summer Reading by registering for our Summer Reading Program. We’re celebrating our “Get Mark, Get Set . . . Read!” Summer Reading program with a sports-themed Kick-Off Party on Saturday, June 11th from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. Games, food, crafts, and fun.
Did you know that children can lose up to half a grade level in their reading and math skills over the summer? Reading during the summer months helps children retain or even IMPROVE their reading skills, keeps them tuned in to books, and is an enjoyable way to spend some lazy time. Reading out loud together or listening to recordings of books also helps keep the brain sharp for the next school year. The Community Library in Ketchum has a FREE summer reading program to help your child thrive and even gain headway over the summer. You can register at the Library between June 6th and July 1st. Help your child set a reading goal similar to the number of minutes he or she would read each week during the school year, and if the goal is met, your child can be entered into the Library’s drawing for some great prizes. But the best prize of all will be your child having an easier time and more fun in school next year!
