Join the ERC and The Community Library every third Tuesday of the month at 6pm for an Environmental Book Series. Each month, participants will read a classic or contemporary book on a selected environmental topic. Hadley DeBree of the ERC will then facilitate an interactive discussion of the book at The Community Library. In addition to these monthly discussions, supplemental programs such as lectures and film showings will be offered on the environmental topics explored throughout the book series. This series is free and open to the public and participants are welcome to drop in each month.
In February, Porter Fox’s “Deep: the Story of Skiing and the Future of Snow” will explore climate change and snowpack. In March, participants will discuss pesticides and the environment through reading Rachel Carson’s “Silent Spring.” In April, Naomi Orkeskes and Erik M. Conway’s “Merchants of Doubt” will explore climate change and politics. In May, our final book Naomi Klein’s “This Changes Everything” will explore climate change and economics.
