Meet local filmmakers Leah Warshawski and Todd Soliday (recently profiled in Sun Valley Magazine’s Winter 2014-15 issue) and learn about their film production company Inflatable Film. They will show a trailer for their last feature film FINDING HILLYWOOD (which will screen in Ketchum in April) and present 10 minutes of exclusive footage from their current feature documentary BIG SONIA.
Standing tall at 4’8′, Sonia Warshawski (89) is a tiny woman with a huge personality. Diva, business owner, “everybody’s grandmother,” and Holocaust survivor – she’s just been served an eviction notice for John’s Tailoring, the last (and most popular) shop left standing in a dying mall in suburban Kansas City. Sonia struggles with retirement, while her life lessons span generations.
Leah and Todd are currently raising funds for post-production and outreach, and looking for Executive Producers for BIG SONIA to help complete the film before Sonia turns 90. Come learn about how to get involved and see some exciting footage shown only at this event. Attendees will receive a special BIG SONIA sewing kit as well!
