Katherine Kirk is the Executive Director of the Idaho Heritage Trust and publisher of Bridging the Past, Present, and future: Commemorating 25 years of the Idaho Heritage Trust. The lecture will highlight, from the book, 10 unique historic sites to visit this summer. Historic sites that are off the beaten track from the typical tourist stops. For example, a late 1800’s stone building originally constructed as a general store now serves as a rural Catholic Church. Restored by volunteers and a priest who had previously spent time in northern Africa with the French Legionnaires, a visitor entering the chapel today may feel transported to another time and place, perhaps to a Moorish church in North Africa.
Books will be available onsite for purchase following the lecture.
