Join us for a virtual induction ceremony of the Sun Valley Winter Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2019: Graham Anderson, Dick Dorworth, Sonya Dunfield, Jim Savaria, Bob Jonas, W. Averell Harriman, Herman Maricich, and Doran Key.
The Sun Valley Winter Sports Hall of Fame is a program which honors the significant contributions of legendary local athletes and visionaries who have not only achieved in their sport or industry, but have given back to the Wood River Valley community in ways that have furthered the development of the sport: Alpine Skiing, Nordic Skiing, Ice Hockey, Figure Skating, Snowboarding, and Freestyle Skiing. The inductee stories are showcased in the Jeanne Rodger Lane Center for Regional History’s Regional History Museum.
The Jeanne Roger Lane Center for Regional History, established in 1982, is comprised of the Betty Olsen Carr Reading Room, the Regional History Museum, and the Ernest and Mary Hemingway House and Preserve Special Collections. The Center collects and makes accessible materials about central Idaho historical events and cultural change, as well as about Ernest Hemingway. The Community Library’s mission is to bring individuals, ideas, and information together to enhance the cultural life of the community. The Library is a privately funded public library that offers free access like government-funded libraries, but receives no dedicated tax support.
