Teen Movie: McFarland USA

Join us in the Young Adult Room for a Teen Movie. Popcorn and pizza will be provided. If you are participating in our Teen Summer Read Challenge don’t forget to get your card stamped by a librarian.

Based on a true story, “McFarland USA” is the story of a group of novice runners triumphing over tremendous obstacles to build a historic cross country team amid the farmland of central California. This movie is rated PG and is 130 minutes long.

Academy Award-winner Reese Witherspoon joins an incredible ensemble cast of Sudanese actors. “The Good Lie” is the uplifting tale of four friends’ journey from their devastated homeland to the foreign world that is modern  America, and the people who help empower them to begin again (from cover jacket). This movie is rated PG-13 and is 110 minutes long.

Record your time and turn it in for a chance to win a gift card from a local business. Also, if you are participating in our Teen Summer Read Challenge, don’t forget to have your card stamped by a librarian.

Teen Craft: Mini Boxes

Come decorate a mini box in the Young Adult Room on Wednesday, July 8th from 3:00 – 5:00 pm or on Saturday, July 11th from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm. While supplies last. Supplies and snacks provided. Use our cool papers or bring your own!
