Teens: Action Photography with Hank Dart

Free Photo Class for Teens: Action Photography with Hank Dart.
Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm.
Teen / Young Adult space at The Community Library, Ketchum, Idaho

This class will focus on ACTION Photography but will cover a wide range of topics helpful to anyone wanting to take better photos.

Space is limited. Registration is Required.
Please sign up HERE via EventBrite (search events in Ketchum, ID) or call the Community Library Children’s Desk at 208-726-3493 x2.
This is a free class for TEENS and YOUNG ADULTS 13+.
Participants should bring a DSLR camera if they have one, but may also bring a point and shoot or camera phone.

Hank Dart is a medical writer, ultra runner, and photographer who lives in Hailey, Idaho. His works have appeared in Camas, Mountain Flyer, Faster Skier, Trail Runner, and Running Times. He can be seen taking amazing action shots of local athletes, especially SVSEF skiers during the winter months.

Family of Woman Film Festival: Virtual Reality Film Viewings

The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) has created a short virtual reality film in the Za’atari refugee camp in Jordan detailing the lives of women and girls there.

UNFPA has granted The Family of Woman Film Festival permission to show this film in special virtual reality labs set up at The Community Library for three days, February 27 – March 1. No appointments are necessary; if the virtual reality goggles are in use, there will only be a short wait. The screenings will take place in the Young Adult room.

Times:

Monday, February 27: 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Tuesday, February 28: 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Wednesday, March 1: 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Teen Craft: Mason Jar Snow Globes

Teens in Grades 6 – 12: Join us in the Young Adult Room at the Community Library for a Christmas Mason Jar Snow Globe Craft.
We’ll provide fake snow and mini trees. We also have a limited supply of jars, so bring your own if you are picky about what kind and size you want.
We have some assorted accessories to add to you snow-scape, but feel free to bring your own as well.

Teen Craft: Sharpie Mugs

Come design and decorate a Sharpie mug at The Community Library. We’ll provide special long-lasting sharpies and one mug per participant. Feel free to provide your own if you’d like to make more than one. This is a drop-in activity between 4:00 pm and 5:30 pm. Pick up your mug at the Children’s Library circulation desk. Snacks provided. Teens in grades 6 – 12. Sign-up here on Event Brite or call The Children’s Library at 726-3493 x 2.
