Blaine County School District: Strategic Plan Community Meeting

The Blaine County School District has a new mission: To inspire, engage, educate and empower every student.

New Goals:

· All students will be inspired to develop intellectual curiosity by 2020.
· All students will be engaged actively in our learning community by 2020.
· All students will be educated by 2020.
· All students will be empowered by 2020 to make independent positive choices through continual social and emotional development.

What action steps will help us meet the four new goals for the Strategic Plan? Find out and provide feedback on the action steps at the next round of Strategic Plan meetings for the Blaine County School District.

“Our Energy Future” Presented by Idaho Power

The Community Library invites patrons to a free presentation by Idaho Power entitled “Our Energy Future.” Idaho Power representative Dan Olmstead will cover a brief history of Idaho Power, their current portfolio of electrical generation resources, and current planning efforts to meet customer needs in the Wood River Valley. There will be time for public questions and useful information about electrical resources, energy efficiency and future plans.

Master Gardening in Idaho

“Master Gardeners” is a National Certification Program administered in Idaho by the U. of Idaho. Attention home gardeners, landscapers, & small farmers: water quantity issues, blue grass versus fescue grass, frosts and freezes, flowers, trees & vegetables, high altitude seasons, soils, pesticides & pests? The Master Gardener Program is a rigorous program to be offered in the Wood River Valley this coming Oct. Come hear an overview of the program and the process. Tony McCammon, U. of Idaho.
