Basque Sheepherders “The End of an Era” with Kent and Cathy McAdoo
Join Kent and Cathy McAdoo as they share their first-hand experience of living for 13 months in northern Nevada with Basque herders in the early 1970s. Through a photograph-illustrated presentation, they describe each season in sheep camp, from lambing to summer range, the fall trail, winter range on the desert, and trailing back to the lambing area in spring. They will share colorful sheep camp stories as they celebrate life among the Basques and remind us of how this culture has left an indelible imprint on the West.

RE-IMAGINE! THE COMMUNITY LIBRARY
The Community Library invites all members of the community to participate in the “Re-Imagining Sessions” that will be led by acclaimed Library Consultant and Architect, Dennis Humphries.
He will lead three sessions on Wednesday, August 13, 2014, in the Library Lecture Room. Please join us:
9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
During these sessions Humphries will expose the audience to a wide range of possibilities seen in modern libraries, and engage participants by encouraging feedback in order to determine what possibilities are most important to individual participants and the community at large.
Humphries will return to Ketchum and the Community Library in September and October to follow up with the community. For more information, please contact Anna Svidgal: asvidgal@comlib.org
