The JCF Mythological RoundTable® Group of Ketchum, ID is comprised of people from a wide variety of backgrounds, drawn together by a deep interest in all things mythological. Specific topics may vary yet the gathering always includes at least an hour of open round-table discussion. The group is facilitated by Jan Peppler, a doctoral candidate in Mythological Studies. Everyone is welcome!

Topic: Archetypes and Mythology

What are archetypes and how do they show up in mythology and our personal lives? Diane Crist, M.A., a Jungian psychotherapist practicing in the Wood River Valley since 1988, will provide an overview of archetypes as they appear in fairy tales and myth. From there, we will discuss how these same archetypes show up in our lives.

Environmental Book Series with the ERC

July 7, 2021 by kmerwin

Dates: January 19, February 16, March 15, April 19 and May 17
Time: 6:00 – 7:30pm

Where: The Community Library (415 Spruce Ave, Ketchum), Regional History Room

Join the ERC and The Community Library every third Tuesday of the month at 6pm for an Environmental Book Series. Each month, participants will read a classic or contemporary book on a selected environmental topic. Hadley DeBree of the ERC will then facilitate an interactive discussion of the book at The Community Library. In addition to these monthly discussions, supplemental programs such as lectures and film showings will be offered on the environmental topics explored throughout the book series. This series is free and open to the public and participants are welcome to drop in each month.

In April, Naomi Orkeskes and Erik M. Conway’s “Merchants of Doubt” will explore climate change and politics. In May, our final book Naomi Klein’s “This Changes Everything” will explore climate change and economics.
