Intermediate Spanish Class with Sara Pettit
Intermediate Conversational Spanish
This class is designed for Spanish language learners at the intermediate levels of proficiency. Students will have the opportunity to increase Spanish proficiency in real-world terms. Speaking, listening, and reading are emphasized. Students will practice description, discussion, role-play, and task completion within paired and group conversation. Communication strategies will also be practiced. New, more refined vocabulary and grammar will be presented specific to various topics of discussion.

Great Decisions, 2017
This lively discussion group is a perennial favorite for inquisitive minds in the Wood River Valley. The curriculum is developed by the Foreign Policy Association, and it investigates a range of contemporary foreign and domestic policy issues. Topics for the 2017 program include The Future of Europe, Trade and Politics, Conflict in the South China Sea, Saudi Arabia in Transition, U.W. Foreign Policy and Petroleum, Latin Americas Political Pendulum, Prospects for Afghanistan and Pakistan and Nuclear Security. The discussions will be moderated by Don Liebich, who has been involved with economic development, citizen diplomacy, and human rights projects in the Middle East. Don is an author and an international consultant. Class size is limited.
