ERC Book Discussion: Tim Egan’s “The Big Burn”
On Wednesday, June 21 at 6pm at The Community Library, the ERC will facilitate a book discussion on Tim Egan’s The Big Burn. Egan’s book examines the largest-ever fire in American history in the summer of 1910 in the national forests of Washington, Idaho, and Montana. Egan follows the struggles of the overmatched rangers against the unstoppable fire as well as the larger story of president Teddy Roosevelt and chief forester Gifford Pinchot and their quest for conservation and the creation of public lands.
