Children's|Young Adult

Sewing Club with Helen Morgus

Sewing Club teaches basic hand-stitching through simple projects for kids. Children must be age 7+ to attend and sign-up is required. All supplies are provided. Due to Covid-19 restrictions Sewing Club is currently restricted to 4 participants.

Participants must:

  • Be at least 7 years old and able to manage the project on their own. (Parental help is encouraged and children under the age of 9 may not be left alone at the library).
  • Wear a mask.
  • Practice social distancing from instructor, other participants, and library patrons.
  • Register in advance and commit to attend. As space is limited, please ensure you are able to participate before registering. Please call the Children’s Library at 208-726-3493 x3 to reserve a spot. Slots will be filled on a first come, first served basis.

This month’s project is pumpkin face masks. This project will be repeated twice this month on October 15th and 22nd. Sewing Club is about one hour.

 

 

 

Quick Class: Chalkboard Doorknob Hanger

A Quick Class is a quick (30 min, or so) class or activity at the library. For September: Back to School means Back to School Supplies. Come paint your own chalkboard Doorknob Hanger in this Quick Class at The Community Library. All supplies are provided.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions Flash Classes are currently restricted to 4 participants.

Participants must:

  • Be at least 9 years old and able to manage the project on their own.
  • Wear a mask.
  • Practice social distancing from instructor, other participants, and library patrons.
  • Register in advance

Summer Reading Program Ends Today at NOON

Our Summer Reading Program: Imagine Your Story ends at NOON today. You must report the minutes you’ve read (kids) or pages read (teens) by NOON. You can report your Summer Reading on our website. Late entries will not be accepted.

Due to the current pandemic, a summer reading party is not being held this year. Instead, librarians will conduct a random drawing. Winners will be contacted by the end of day on Monday, August 10th.

Crafter-noon for Tweens & Teens: Art Journals

AGES 10+. Come journal and create with an art journal for the New Year. Art Journals are a fun way to remember all the special moments in your life or set goals and intentions for the year ahead. Collect memories, thoughts, and ideas and put them all together by combining art and journaling.  No registration is required. While supplies last.
