Paper Planes by Jennie Wood
Hi my name is Elaina. I am in 6th grade. I love to draw and to read. My favorite types of books are love stories and anything that is a graphic novel.
I was not a huge fan of this book because it was kind of hard for me to get into. After a little bit, though, I enjoyed it more and it was nice. What I really liked were some of the messages that this book gave. For example, it makes you realize that every once and a while people who were once inseparable grow apart. Now some people think that growing apart is a bad thing but, in this book, it was for the best because now the characters can each find themselves. That is only one of the messages that this book teaches.
The author gives so much background information on the characters. Leighton is bit annoying to me at times since she is a bit rude. Then I realized she was just being protective. Dylan is a whole other story. I felt so bad for him since he was just trying to be himself and searching for his identity.
This book is especially good if you like graphic novels. Even though it is a graphic novel there are still more words than expected. This is a nice story if you like reading realistic fiction books. I do have to say that this book is also so cool since it shows you how to make paper airplanes. Overall, I really enjoyed this book, and I feel as though you should read it too.
