Black Beauty by Anna Sewell
Hi my name is Johnathon and I’m from Idaho. Some of my favorite things to do are visit family on holidays, hang out with friends on school nights, play baseball with my friends on weekends, I also like to read, and play Xbox.
The book I read was Black Beauty. The author is Anna Sewell. The main character is a horse named Black Beauty, but we also meet a few other horses like Max. The story is written from Black Beauty’s point of view. We meet Black Beauty when she’s a baby.
Black Beauty is sold several times throughout the book. Some owners are nice, and others are mean to her. One owner even beat her so badly that Black Beauty accidentally kills him. This is a part of the story, I don’t like. With time, Black Beauty is bought by some people who really care for her, and she gets better and better, until she’s happier in the end.
Two reasons I liked this book is when we meet the main character Black Beauty, and when we meet all the nice caretakers. The main character was very nice and descriptive when the book began. The reason I liked the nice caretakers was because they knew how to take care of a horse and knew what to do. A thing I didn’t like about this book is all the bad owners we met through the book. I would highly recommend this book to others, especially kids who love horses.
