Percy Jakson, The Titan’s Curse is a Greek myth-based book written by Rick Riordan. This book the third of a five part series containing adventure, mythology and action. The main character, Percy Jackson, is a “half blood” meaning he is half human and half god. Percy’s friends include Anabeth and Grovers who are satyrs. The book picks up when Percy is sent on a quest to rescue the goddess of the hunt, Artemis from captivity after she disappeared chasing a powerful monster that could possibly destroy Olympus. Percy is soon joined by Zoe Nightshade, Bianca and other hunters to help accomplish their quests goal. Throughout their journey they are faced with deadly monsters while trying to maintain peace with the gods to prevent a war. Aswell as fighting Percy has to think deeply about what it means to be a true hero as to not fall in the downfall patterns that others have taken.
This book is a page turner with plenty of suspense that keeps the reader wanting to know what happens next. The author also includes plenty of humor that is incorporated through the book. I would recommend this book to ages 12-15 for kids who like Greek mythology but still want to be entertained.
