Glorious Rivals is the riveting sequel to The Grandest Game. Just like the previous novel in the series, the story is told from the perspectives of Lyra, Rohan, and Gigi.
The story picks up where the last novel ends, where the remaining players continue in the grandest game. As the players progress through the stages of the game, it is revealed that there is a bigger, more dangerous threat watching everything that is happening. What does this threat want and why are they watching the grandest game?
While all of this is happening, Gigi is still missing, and Avery Grambs and the Hawthorne brothers must find out where she is. At the end of the novel, the winner of the grandest game is determined but there are still many secrets, threats, and puzzles to solve. Who will win the grandest game? Overall, Glorious Rivals packs in so much action, romance, and mystery that I was on the edge of my seat for the entire book and even managed to finish the book within a week. The book ended with a huge cliffhanger leaving me excited for the next book in the series. All in all, I would recommend this book to anyone who has read The Grandest Game as well as anyone who enjoys reading novels by Jennifer Lynn Barnes. Be aware, this novel does require prior knowledge from The Inheritance Games series and The Grandest Game novel.
