Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
Hi, I’m McCallen. I like skiing and basketball.
Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury is a classic that challenges readers to examine the role of knowledge, censorship, and individuality in a dystopian society. Set in a future where books are banned and “firemen” burn any that are found, the story follows Guy Montag, a firefighter who begins to question his society’s values and rules. He begins to question why society is spending so much time and money to get rid of literature.
In Fahrenheit 451 the main character Montog is a firefighter. In this book, a firefighter is someone who burns books. He loves his job and doesn’t think much of reading books; he just knows his job is to get rid of literature. One day he meets a girl that is interested in reading and they both start to keep books around and read. This leads to some problems that majorly affect the story. It leads to many big events and law-breaking by these citizens for the greater good of society.
I recommend this book to people that are interested in futuristic settings and what the world might look like in 50 years. Also people that are interested in a thrilling story full of adventure.
