In April, The Community Library had planned to host an all-day workshop with Loving Spirit, a non-profit committed to helping transform the journey of loss. Following the cancellation of our local and other regional in-person workshops, Loving Spirit embarked on preparing a free webinar to share online. The Library is honored to partner in sharing this webinar with our community.
Loving Spirit workshops are intended for adults who are grieving a major loss in their lives, whether through the death of a loved one, divorce, career change, medical diagnosis, or other event. The workshops teach new mindsets, skill sets, and tools that anyone can adopt and look at the journey of loss through a multi-cultural perspective.
The new webinar series launches June 1, 2020, and will be available to view anytime. Comprised of six, approximately one-hour sessions, the webinar will be accessible on all devices (computers, notepads, cell phones) as well as on Apple TV. The webinar is closed-captioned for the hearing impaired. Later in the summer a Spanish language version will be available.
Anyone interested in attending the webinar can register at: www.lovingspiritwebinar.com. A workbook will be available online to download after registration.
In the past six years, Loving Spirit has held its free workshops in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Ohio, Idaho, Illinois, and Utah. The organization is led by Dayle and Will Spencer, who founded Loving Spirit following the death of their daughter, Allie, at age 28, from the flu. Dayle has written two books on grief and loss, Loving Allie, Transforming the Journey of Loss, and Loving Spirit, Self-help for the Journey of Loss. The non-profit, headquartered in Sun Valley, Idaho, with affiliate locations in Arizona and Colorado, provides its workshops and materials free to all attendees, thanks to charitable donations.
