Topic: Love and the Holy Grail
Before the grail became a legendary religious artifact, it was associated with love and the healing power of love. We will begin with some history of the grail and watch Joseph Campbell explain the Arthurian legend of Parsifal as it relates to marriage (excerpted from The Hero’s Journey: A Biographical Portrait). Discussion will center on love as a grail quest and the experience of love as a hero’s initiation.
