The theme of the 2015 Family of Woman Film Festival is “Women and Their Dreams” The films that the Community Library will show from its collection of the past seven years of the festival, will feature girls and women who have held their own dreams.
Join us for a free screening of Saving Face. This documentary from Pakistan won the Academy Award. It follows Dr. Mohammad Jawad from his successful practice in London to Pakistan, where he is introduced to women who have been victims of acid attacks. The film then focuses on some of these women as they grapple with what has happened to them. As well as following their reconstructive surgery, the film shows Pakistani women helping each other cope and to seek justice for the victims.
